DWI
Expungements
A DWI not only affects your driving
privileges and insurance rates but can also damage your future chances for
employment. A prior DWI, no matter how old, can be used to increase punishment
on a later DWI. This punishment could include minimum jail time, larger fines,
a longer loss of driving privileges and the requirement of installing an
interlock ignition device on your car.
Here is some
good news!
If you have
a prior DWI or BAC which is over ten years old, you may be eligible to have it
expunged (erased) from your driving record.
An
Expungement restores you to where you were prior to the arrest, plea or
conviction as if it had never happened. Court records and files become
confidential with very few exceptions.

Driving
Record Cleanup
Many
people believe that after three years, traffic convictions disappear from their
driving record. Although after three years of driving with no additional moving
violations removes any points assessed against your license, the convictions
are not automatically removed from your record.
However,
the State of Missouri does provide a procedure to have certain traffic
convictions older than three years to be permanently removed from your record.
If you have old traffic convictions on your record and would like to see about
having them removed, call Souder Tate Law or go to the following website.
